Sunday Style: Shoes, Shoes, Shoes

Shoes are another thing I feel like I'm seriously lacking in my closet.  I always notice myself looking at other people's shoes and wishing I had more.  But for some reason I always end up spending my money on more clothes (which I don't necessarily need more of), instead of shoes (which I definitely need more of).  I don't know why either.  I'm really picky when it comes to shoes, so that could be part of the problem.  I can't wear super tall heels for more than ten minutes, but I like to have some heel to make my legs (and rear) look better.  I like the comfort of flats, but I don't love the look of them.  Annnnd all the shoes I really love are way more expensive than I can afford at this time.  But I have decided that I'm going to make a serious attempt to add to my shoe collection.

Last week I noticed a few outfits that showed off some really cute shoes.  Here were some of my favorites:

Which of these shoes are your favorite?  I naturally lean toward the strappy black heels in the last picture, but I love the color of the pumps in the first picture...they are all great!  Also, where is your favorite place to buy shoes?  I need to start my shoe search and I would love to discover some new places to shop for footwear!

Ok, now it's time for this week's linky party.  Here are the rules:

1. Add your link to a specific outfit post, not your main blog page.
2. Grab a button and add it to your post (a text link is also fine).
3. Comment on this post and at least one other post...the whole point is to visit each other.
4. Follow my blog, so you can be reminded to link up next time!

  1. I really like The Mrs. & The Momma's silver shoes! Great feature choice. Thanks for hosting, and Happy Sunday!

  2. Those shoes on the picture of Heather's Thrifty Closet are so cute.

  3. I like the last heels best too. They really work well with her outfit.

  4. I am a sucker for a mad shoe and so love the silver ones most. I am away at the moment with a severely limited wardrobe and am really missing the opportunity to have posted a mad shoe on myself. Barefoot in a wooden hut is my best today. My recommendation if you want to at least get one mad pair of shoes in your wardrobe is Irregular Choice. If nothing else have a look at their website for giggles. thanks again for hosting.

  5. Hi Jenny, Oh wow, these are all really high heels. I'd have to go with the last pair. I have so many shoes, it's kind of embarrassing. You are wise to be picky about your shoe purchases. You do want a good fit, and a shoe that is kind to your feet. And there are some heels that are quite comfortable, but they are on the pricey side. I buy a lot of my shoes from Aldo Shoes. I have a small size foot, and I buy online to get a greater selection than what they offer in their stores. Their retail store is nearby so returns are easy peasy for me.

Thanks for hosting Sunday Style. Have a wonderful day,

    Sue xo

  6. I must say, I'm not much of a typical girl when it comes to shoes. I always opt for a pair of flats, but only when I really need a new pair. The shoes I'm wearing in my link-up post are the ONLY heels I wear. Ever. Hahaha!

  7. I completely get you trying to find shoes that aren't super expensive! My favorite shoe store is Famous Footwear! They have really cute pairs in their clearance section, for excellent prices! I got a pair of blue loafers and some white heels there. They are both super cute pairs of shoes! The loafers were only $10, and the heels were $15! I'm not one of those people that likes to go over $20 dollars on a pair of shoes. My only exception to that rule is boots! Famous Footwear is definitely a place you should check out, though! Hope this heps! Blessings to you,

  8. great picks! these ladies are fab!

  9. Thank you for featuring me Jenny! I love all of the other choices too! Nine West makes these heels in lots of colors, I have two pairs and love them! Its a classic mary jane with a bit more UMMPH! :)

  10. I am just like you. I wish I had more shoes and I seriously need more too. But I am so picky when it comes to shoes it takes me forever to find shoes I really like.

  11. I buy a lot of my shoes from ShiekShoes.com. (check out coupon codes online before you check out) I've bought heels and boots from them. They're cheap (sometimes in quality too... but they're mostly great)and have tons of styles. They run out of sizes sometimes, but don't update it online so you find out when they ship your stuff... but whatever. They're fun to try new shoes for cheap, but a lot of their heels are really high so check your settings on the left or the description of the shoe. Oh, I've also bought shoes from Kmart.com and Walmart.com in the past... sounds funny, but they both have great clearance and sometimes surprisingly cute styles. Good luck!

  12. Oh, I definitely need more shoes too! I have two pair of black boots (one three-inch heel, one 1 1/4-inch heel) and one pair of black flats. Yeah. . . .

  13. obsessing over the black pair at the bottom that things like skeleton keys is rocking. im a sucker for ankle straps and cannot get enough of black heels. just joined the link up, super excited to participate, thanks for hosting xo

  14. I love the shoes in the first picture. They're such a great color! I actually buy a lot of my shoes at Target and Marshall's.

  15. I like the last pair best too. Thanks for the fun party :)

  16. this is my first time linking up! so fun :D

  17. I love the last pair of black ankle straps!
I used to be the same as you - focused on clothes vs. shoes, but now I'm converted, and I'm a bit of a shoe-aholic.
Every Tuesday on my blog I make Shoesday and highlight a pair in my collection. Hope you check it out and thanks for hosting the link up! Your blog is great!

  18. Thank you so much for hosting this! What more does a girl want to see than shoes?!

  19. I so love the Valentino heels! Thanks for following my new blog too!

  20. Love shoes! I think that last pair is my favorite! Black + ankle straps = winning! lol.

  21. These looks are all awesome!

  22. It really is hard to choose because I think I have way too many shoes! But I like the black ones. Thanks for the link.

  23. hi! MAN! You have a rockin' meme going on here. Just found you with the $1000 Visa give-away! I have been following Chioma for a bit. Now I am following you. Great post, blog and ya, blog hop. So a LDS too, huh? Utah, huh? ME TOO. But that isn't why I'm following. I LOVE YOUR BLOG. Thats why.

  24. Thanks for the link party, Jenny! Sunday is pretty much the only day that my fun shoes come out for me. It just isn't practical the rest of the week so I live in flats.

  25. The place to look for shoes is Zappos.com, but they have such a huge selection that it's easier if you're looking for something specific. Of the online shoe clubs, I like Sole Society the best--good quality for the price. ShoeMint also has great stuff, but it pricier.

  26. Love the silver bows! And they entire outfit on the last pic! Thanks for the link up!

  27. Beautiful shoe picks! I'm liking your taste. Sweet. I love wearing heels, craving the longer-legged look. But high heels aren't kind to my feet and back (at all), and so I've started opting (sometimes) for less heel and more platform...I get the height without having to teeter around at such extreme, tippy toe angles. 28. Aww Jenny I just realized you included me! THank you so much girl! I'm totally flattered.haha Made my day! and yes I wish we lived closer! I guess once every few months isn't so bad, We just need more excuses for me to come there since that's where all the fun happens! haha
    Have an awesome weekend!
