There are few things more relaxing than a road trip, and the best way to see the UK is from behind the wheel of your own car. From little hidden gems on the west coast to the rolling hills and peaky mountains of Wales, many travelers fall in love with this trend.
Finding an adventurous road trip can be challenging, especially if you are after something truly different. The UK has some fantastic campervan routes that offer a great alternative to the classic road trip in your RV. There is beautiful scenery throughout the country and many places to visit, but it also provides some remote spots for camping as well.
There are plenty of great caravan routes that are perfect for exploring the country in your own time, at your own pace. Here are four adventurous ways you can take across Britain after you compare caravan insurance and buy the one as per your requirement.
The Scottish highlands
The Scottish Highlands offer a vast range of options for hiking and sightseeing. Stand atop the Ben Nevis mountain range, and view the snowcapped summits of the Cairngorms National Park.
You can also drive along breathtakingly beautiful coastlines, visit free roaming wildlife such as red deer and roe deer, and participate in numerous sporting activities like fishing, horseback riding, and golfing before returning to your campervan at night.
Lake District & North York Moors
If you aspire to get a taste of what life is like on the road but don’t have the time for long trips, then the Lake District and North York Moors are the ideal locations for you.
Although these areas are some of the most beautiful in all of England, they’re never far from civilization, meaning you can head home if things aren’t working out.
The Cotswolds are pretty beautiful. Cirencester and Broadway are my top choices if you’re visiting a campervan and want to enjoy the finest of the outdoors while eating fantastic meals. Both are lovely communities with a lively atmosphere and plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés to enjoy. Broadway Tower, the Cotswold Wildlife Park, and Blenheim Palace are some of the more popular tourist sites in The Cotswolds.
You can also take your time – and get lost along the way if you want. There’s lots of information online about routes and villages, so be sure to do some research before planning your trip!
Belfast to Londonderry
The campervan route from Belfast to Derry is a must for a fun and very scenic road trip in Northern Ireland. This Route takes you through the historic town of Carrickfergus, known for its stone walls and tales of giants; past a series of interconnecting canals that mills once used; along the Causeway Coastal Route, where you will enjoy views across the North Channel to Scotland; through the unique Antrim Mountains at Glens of Antrim; and finally into Londonderry following the River Foyle.
One of the world’s most incredible road trips, Belfast and Londonderry are places that you can only visit once, and both have so much to offer. The Route takes you through the ‘nine green Glens of Antrim’, a place of constant natural beauty.
